MANILA, Philippines — A man who was playing cara y cruz at a wake in Caloocan City was shot dead by a motorcycle-riding gunman on Sunday.

Reynold Medillo, 31, was playing the coin game at a wake in Barangay 178, Camarin, when the gunman, with his face hidden behind his helmet, went up to him and shot the victim multiple times before dawn Sunday.

Medillo died at the scene while the suspect fled on his motorcycle.

Police are still investigating the motive for the killing, especially because the victim had no known enemies, according to Caloocan police North Extension Office chief Senior Inspector Dennis Odtuhan.
