Makati sets new traffic rules in 5 barangays
MANILA, Philippines — The city government of Makati has started imposing new traffic rules, including banning curbside parking, in its five barangays.
Pursuant to five ordinances passed by the city council last December, it approved new traffic management systems and parking guidelines in Barangays Carmona, San Antonio, Tejeros, Cembo and Comembo, the city government said in a statement yesterday.
The ordinances prohibited parking on certain streets.
In Barangay Carmona, these are E. Rodriguez, D. Benito, Guizon and E. Pascua streets.
In Barangay Tejeros, parking is banned along J.P. Rizal, A.P. Reyes, Kalayaan and Metropolitan Avenues; and on Pasong Tamo, Pasong Tirad (from J.P. Rizal to Davila streets), Primo Rivera, F. Nazario and H. Santos streets.
In Barangay San Antonio, no parking is allowed along Bagtikan, Estrella and Talisay streets and Alley from Sampaloc to Banuyo streets.
In Barangay Comembo, Sampaguita, Chico, Aguho and Lanzones streets (from Sampaloc to J.P. Rizal streets) will be “no parking zones.”
Meanwhile, motorists cannot park in blind corners marked with yellow boxes in Barangay Cembo, the city government said.
