Ghio Ong - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — A policeman was found dead in his car along the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) in Muntinlupa City yesterday morning.

Chief Inspector Normandy Sanidad, 45, a registered nurse and a member of the Philippine National Police’s Health Service assigned to the Special Action Force School at Fort Sto. Domingo in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, sustained a gunshot wound in his right temple, according to Chief Inspector June Reyes, who heads the Muntinlupa police’s investigation section.

A concerned citizen reported a green Toyota Corolla (UAM-325) hit a barrier along SLEX’s northbound lane in Barangay Poblacion at around 8:31 a.m.

Police found Sanidad’s 9mm Glock pistol in his car, Reyes said. Investigators have yet to talk to Sanidad’s widow, he added.
