MANILA, Philippines - One of the suspected drug dealers arrested by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives last week is also wanted for murder, an official said yesterday.

Gerald Peñaflor, 26, whose real name is Shannon James Bon Buckly, is the subject of an arrest warrant for the murder of Maria Rachelle Joy Alfaro, a registered nurse, in March 2017 in Tanza, Cavite, PDEA special enforcement services chief Levi Ortiz said.

“The suspect denied he was involved in a murder case but there is evidence against him,” Ortiz said.

Buckly allegedly stabbed Alfaro 17 times in different parts of the body.

PDEA is coordinating with the Cavite police for the suspect’s transfer of custody.

Last Jan. 12, Buckly and Lester Almalbez, 35, were arrested at a condominium unit in Mandaluyong City, where around 1.6 liters of liquid ecstasy worth P480,000, 70 ecstasy tablets with a street value of P46,000 and six packs of cocaine worth P140,000 were seized from them.
