Suspects in P4-M hotel heist named
MANILA, Philippines — Police identified four suspects who allegedly stole P4 million in cash and valuables from a hotel in Pasay City and its guests last Jan. 2, an official said yesterday.
Superintendent Jenny Tecson, Southern Police District spokesperson, said Pasay police “tracker teams are still conducting follow-up operations” to arrest the men who robbed The Mabuhay Manor hotel.
Police would file today charges of robbery-in-band, a non-bailable offense, against the four suspects before the city prosecutor’s office, said Superintendent Gene Licud, the city police’s deputy chief for operations.
Though he refused to name the suspects until they are arrested, TV5 released the names and photos of the suspects but called them “persons of interest.”
Police refused to confirm if Daniel Constantino, James Carl Palomo, Brent Michael Bravo and Norman Deyta are indeed the robbery suspects.
Licud said the suspects are supposed to be members of a robbery gang operating in the city.
Licud earlier said one of the suspects is a former security guard living near the hotel.
National Capital Region Police Office chief Director Oscar Albayalde gave city police chief Senior Superintendent Dionisio Bartolome a week to solve the case.
