7 nabbed for illegal gambling

MANILA, Philippines — Seven people were rounded up for engaging in an illegal cockfight in Quezon City on Monday.

The suspects were caught by peacekeeping officers of Barangay Pasong Tamo, according to Talipapa police station 3 commander Superintendent Danilo Mendoza.

They were Reyjun Demafelis, 26; Dondon Gador, 32; Alberto Basa, 42; Lorde Guadiana, 57; Angelito Mandam, 48; Rony Ruiz, 50, and Jesus Sacristan, 66.

Police said charges of illegal gambling have been filed against the suspects.
