‘Biyaheng Pasko’ trains launched at LRT-1

MANILA, Philippines — Metro Pacific Investments Corp. launched yesterday five “Biyaheng Pasko” Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) trains that will run until Dec. 25.

Melody del Rosario, MPIC vice president for public relations and corporate communications, said the trains are their way of reminding commuters of Filipino Christmas traditions.

She said with Filipinos becoming increasingly materialistic, “might as well remind the people or the commuters about the essence of Christmas.”

Del Rosario said they also wanted to support the initiatives of the Light Rail Management Corp., which first launched its “Christmas trains” last year.

Inside the Biyaheng Pasko trains, Del Rosario said there will be parlor games and surprises such as P300 beep cards for commuters and candies for children.
