Malabon barangay chief kills self

MANILA, Philippines — A barangay captain in Malabon City allegedly shot himself dead yesterday.
 
Alexander Roque Jr., 40, chairman of Barangay Baritan, was found lifeless by his aide, Alvin Orante, at his house on Borja street.
 
Orante told police that he saw Roque bloodied with a .40-caliber gun in his left hand.
 
Roque died from a gunshot to the head, case investigator Police Officer 2 Richard Calaycay said.
 
Calaycay said the barangay chief left a suicide note telling his family to pay his debts.
