Fire hits ethyl alcohol warehouse

MANILA, Philippines — A Quezon City warehouse used to store ethyl alcohol was razed by a fire yesterday morning.

The fire, which started at around 8:18 a.m. at the warehouse located in Barangay San Bartolome, destroyed P500,000 in property before it was put out at around 8:54 a.m., Superintendent Manuel Manuel said.

Explosions were supposedly heard during the fire, which reached third alarm, after an ethyl alcohol tanker caught fire. The fire damaged six vehicles, including alcohol tanker trucks.

Fire officials said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
