Suspected pedophile held at NAIA

Evelyn Macairan - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — An American man, suspected of being a pedophile, was detained upon his arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 last week.

The United States embassy tipped off the Bureau of Immigration (BI) that Robin Hoyt Alderman, 58, who flew in from Ho Chi Minh on Oct. 19, was reportedly set to meet with minors he contacted through the internet, BI Commissioner Jaime Morente said.

Alderman’s conversations suggested he “was going to meet them when he comes here and have sexual intercourse with them,” Morente added.

The police Women and Children Protection Center took custody of Alderman and brought him to Camp Crame.
