MANILA, Philippines — More than 300 persons were arrested during a police operation in Barangays Ususan and Pinagsama Taguig City from Friday night until yesterday morning.

Superintendent Jenny Tecson, Southern Police District spokesperson, said 132 police officers took part in the operation, which resulted in the arrest of 33 persons for drinking in public, eight for being half-naked and one for smoking in public.

The others who were arrested violated various city ordinances while 59 minors were “rescued” after being caught on the street in the wee hours of the night, she said.

Police also apprehended 224 persons for traffic violations and impounded 32 unregistered motorcycles, Tecson said.

She said the arrested persons were temporarily detained at the Taguig police station.
