Man attacks 2 boys in Quezon City
MANILA, Philippines — Police charged on Friday a 25-year-old man for allegedly assaulting two boys in Quezon City.
Superintendent Rossel Cejas, commander of the Batasan police station, said yesterday they filed a complaint before the Quezon City prosecutor’s office against Rico Acutin, a construction worker, for violation of Republic Act 7610 or the Child Abuse Law.
The case stemmed from an incident that occurred at around 6:30 p.m. last Thursday in Barangay Holy Spirit where Acutin, who was allegedly drunk, threw a glass of vinegar laced with onions and pepper at the eyes of a nine-year-old boy who refused him entry at a computer shop upon the instructions of the owner.
Acutin wanted to go into the shop to confront a 16-year-old boy he assaulted a few minutes earlier and who had sought refuge at the computer shop.
The suspect’s friend stopped him from further harming the two boys.
Barangay peacekeeping officers arrested Acutin after the boys’ relatives sought their assistance.
