Valenzuela jail: No drugs, but…
MANILA, Philippines — Law enforcement agents raided the inmate dormitories in the Valenzuela City Jail yesterday but found no illegal drugs.
During the random inspection, dubbed Oplan Greyhound, members of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Philippine National Police seized contraband such as kitchenware, pens, bingo cards, and a hairbrush were seized from the inmates, Chief Inspector Emmanuel Bangasan said.
Metal spoons, ballpens, shavers, small mirrors, improvised water heater, assorted concrete nails, pencils, cable wires, belts with metal buckles, scissors, nail cutters, tweezers and electric pots – also deemed as contraband – were also seized during the raid, Inspector Gener Marlo Vargas said.
The raid is part of the simultaneous search of jails in Metro Manila yesterday morning.
