Saudi man shot, robbed in condo

MANILA, Philippines — A 52-year-old Saudi Arabian man was wounded when a fake fastfood delivery man shot and robbed him in his condominium unit in Malate, Manila before dawn Sunday.

Ali Salem Kalid Alhajri told police he was chatting with a Facebook friend, Camille Guanzon, when she called him at around 3:45 a.m. and told him she had food delivered to his unit.

About an hour later, the lobby guard called Alhajri and ask him if a delivery man could take food to his unit. 

Alhajri told his maids, Rebelyn Lual and Jeralyn Cubarubbias, to meet the man at the door.

A man clad in a fastfood restaurant crew’s uniform and armed with a .45 caliber pistol barged in and shot Alhajri, who later hid in the bathroom.

The assailant took Alhajri’s wristwatch, mobile phone, wallet and cash before leaving. 

The lobby guard said the assailant showed an identification card but he failed to inspect the bag and frisk him, police said.

No security personnel were monitoring the closed-circuit television system when the robbery occurred, police added.
