15 held for drugs in Quezon City, Pasig

MANILA, Philippines — At least 15 people were arrested on illegal drug charges in Quezon City and Pasig in the past two days.

Among those arrested is Rogelio delos Reyes, 42, who was caught stealing books in a shopping mall in Barangay Greater Fairview at around 8 p.m. Friday. When police told him to empty his pockets, a sachet of shabu was found in his possession.

Eric Carlos, 42; Edwin Cruz, 49; Carlos Calub, 44; Raul Villar, 48; and Anna Marie Escorial, 22, were caught in a drug session at a house in Barangay Malaya at around 3 p.m. Friday, said Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar, Quezon City Police District director.

Two sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia were seized by policemen during the raid.

The same day, police arrested alleged dealer Anna Marie Apostol, 48, in a sting in Barangay Unang Sigaw at around 5:30 p.m.

Two sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia were confiscated from her.

Lilia Fernandez, 46, was arrested while handing over a shabu to a male buyer in Barangay Sangandaan at around 6:30 p.m. Policemen on routine patrol arrested her but the buyer escaped.

In Barangay Bagbag, alleged dealers Armando Arrieta, 44; Joel Arrieta, 36; and Jhan-Jhan Aballar, 24, were arrested in a drug bust at around 3:20 p.m. They yielded six sachets of shabu.

Eusebio Espinosa, 44, was caught in a drug bust in Barangay North Fairview at around 3:30 p.m. A sachet of shabu was confiscated from him.

Michael Salom, 33, was arrested in a sting in Barangay San Roque at around 8:05 p.m. Ten sachets of shabu were seized from him.

Annalie Makabenta, 31, was caught in another sting in Barangay Bagong Pag-asa at around 10 p.m. Two sachets of shabu were found in her possession.

In Pasig City, Kristofferson Cruz was arrested for allegedly creating a scene along Evangelista street in Barangay Santolan at around 3:30 p.m. Friday.

He tried to punch one of the police officers who responded to the incident.

A sachet of shabu was found in his possession. Police are determining if Cruz was high on drugs during the incident.
