2 drug suspects slain in Quezon City
MANILA, Philippines — Two men believed to be involved in illegal drugs were killed in separate shootings in Quezon City over the weekend.
Police identified the fatalities as Rodante Reponte, 44, and Jommel Gabriel, 42.
Reponte was found dead at his house along Molave street in Barangay Payatas at around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Reponte’s wife told police that they left him sleeping while she and her daughter went outside to buy food.
When they returned home, Reponte was found lifeless with a sachet of shabu in his right hand.
Reponte died at the scene from gunshots to the head.
Superintendent Rossel Cejas, Batasan police station commander, said Reponte was allegedly a drug pusher in the area.
Gabriel was shot dead by an unidentified assailant at his house along Nawasa street in Barangay Pasong Tamo.
Probers said the gunman shot Gabriel through the window before fleeing.
Gabriel was on the drug watchlist of the barangay, according to Superintendent Danilo Mendoza, commander of the Talipapa police station.
