MANILA, Philippines — A 16-year-old girl believed to have been been raped was found dead in Pasig City on Monday morning.
Grace Omadlao, a student of Nagpayong High School, was discovered lifeless at Villa Esguerra Homes in Barangay Pinagbuhatan at around 5 a.m.
Results of an autopsy conducted on Omadlao showed that she died of strangulation. There were indications that she was raped as she suffered a laceration in her genitals, Pasig police chief Senior Superintendent Orlando Yebra said.
Reports said that Omadlao went to a computer shop on Sunday night but failed to return home.
Closed-circuit television footage showed four men following the victim prior to the incident.
Authorities said the suspects could be drug addicts in the area.
