No more passport slots for travel agencies

Pia Lee-Brago - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Clients of travel agencies will now undergo the same process for everyone else when applying for or renewing a passport after the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) removed the 1,200 daily appointment slots reserved for agencies and converted them into additional slots for regular applicants.

With the effectivity of the policy last Aug. 1, the DFA said travel agencies are no longer entitled to fixed appointment slots at the DFA for their clients’ passport application and renewal.

“We want to give back the appointment slots to the Filipino public,” Office of Consular Affairs - Passport Division acting director Ricarte Abejuela III said.
