Poe, supporters mark FPJ’s 78th birth anniversary
MANILA, Philippines - Sen. Grace Poe and her mother Susan Roces led family members, friends and supporters in commemorating the 78th birth anniversary of the late king of Philippine movies, Fernando Poe Jr., at the Manila North Cemetery yesterday.
The Poe family expressed gratitude for their supporters who remembered FPJ. Poe’s husband Neil and son Brian also attended the gathering.
The senator said her father lived a life that taught ordinary Filipinos how to have a heart for the poor.
Young singer Winston Cabiles Jr. of “The Voice Kids” Philippines sang two of FPJ’s favorite songs “May Bukas Pa” and “Kapalaran” during the event.
FPJ, Allan Kelley Poe in real life, has been conferred the National Artist award for film for his contribution as an actor, director, writer and producer.
