2 held for stealing P6-M Yolanda donations

Edu Punay - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents arrested two persons who allegedly stole P6 million in foreign donations for victims of Super Typhoon Yolanda in 2013.

Engineer Desiderio Estinozo and Nestro Lehetemas were nabbed in Malate, Manila at around midnight last Monday after the Davao City regional trial court issued an arrest warrant last February on charges of estafa.

Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II said the two hacked  the email of the Philippine Partnership for the Development of Human Resources in Rural Areas and changed the fund transfer arrangement of 100,000 euros from Spanish non-government organization Fundacion InteRed for PhilDHRRA’s account to the account of DTE Construction and Development Corp. in Cebu City owned by Estinozo.
