2 dead in QC shootings
MANILA, Philippines - Two men were killed in separate shootings in Quezon City on Saturday.
Rommel Agustin, 36, a jeepney driver, was shot dead by unidentified assailants in his vehicle (TJZ-692) parked along Quirino Highway in Barangay Balon Bato at around 1:40 a.m.
In Barangay San Jose, Narciso Bicedo Jr., 30, was shot by patrons of a karaoke bar along A. Bonifacio Avenue at around 10:40 p.m.
Bicedo died at the scene from a gunshot to the head.
Police said the victim was allegedly shot by Jonathan Martinez, who was accompanied by Morgan Martinez, an alias Beng-beng and another man.
The suspects escaped on a tricycle after the attack.
The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit of the Quezon City police.
Girl, 8, hit by stray bullet
Meanwhile, an eight-year-old girl was wounded after being hit by a stray bullet in Quezon City on Saturday.
The Grade 3 student was playing with her friends along Lupang Pangako street in Barangay Payatas when gunshots rang out at around 10:30 a.m., a witness told police.
The minor tried to run toward her house but she was hit on her left arm by a bullet, allegedly meant for an alias Yoyong.
The girl was rushed to the East Avenue Medical Center for treatment.
The suspects, known only as alias Badeth and Nino, fled on a motorcycle.
