2 ex-military officers to head MMDA units

Robertzon Ramirez - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Two former military officers will head key offices of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), an official said yesterday.

MMDA Chairman Danilo Lim, a retired general, said he designated Roberto Almadin, former Customs collector in Cebu, as officer-in-charge for MMDA operations.

Lim said another retired general, Joe Campo, would head the agency’s planning division.

Banking on their capabilities, Lim said Almadin and Campo would help him resolve traffic congestion in Metro Manila.

Lim said he would not introduce “complicated solutions” to ease traffic jams in the metropolis as he would implement basic rules on the road.

President Duterte appointed Lim as MMDA chief on May 20.
