Man kills neighbor, self in Manila over cat

MANILA, Philippines - A 55-year-old man with polio killed his neighbor and then turned the gun on himself following an argument over his neighbor’s cat in Tondo, Manila Thursday afternoon.

Hilario Cuenca died at the scene from a gunshot wound in the temple while Edmund Flores, 52, was declared dead on arrival at the Mary Johnston Hospital.

Police Officer 3 Jonathan Ruiz said Flores scolded Cuenca over the feces left by his cat at around 4 p.m. 

Neighbors told police that the two have been quarreling over the cat but Thursday’s incident was the worst. 

At the height of the argument, Cuenca rushed home, returned with a .38 caliber revolver and shot Flores repeatedly. He then pointed the gun at his temple and pulled the trigger.
