‘Hidden cell’ cops not absolved yet

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine National Police-Internal Affairs Service chief yesterday clarified they have not absolved the policemen assigned at the Manila Police District Station 1 where a “hidden cell” was discovered last month.

Inspector General Alfegar Triambulo said the fact-finding team’s report, which stated that no violations were found on the existence of the secret cell, is not the official stand of the investigating body.

“That is their (team) conclusion…Fact-finding is just gathering facts,” Triambulo said in an interview with reporters.
