MANILA, Philippines - Police officers yesterday recovered the vehicle of a taxi driver who was handcuffed and shot dead in Quezon City last week.
The Toyota Avanza (UVY-152) was found along Mindanao Avenue Extension in Barangay Greater Lagro at around 2:20 a.m.
The identification card of Rafael Dorozan, 44, was found inside the recovered vehicle.
The body of Dorozan was found along Daculan street in Barangay Bagong Pag-asa last Friday, the third such killing since the start of the year.
Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director, said they are investigating if Dorozan was dumped and his vehicle was used by his killers as a getaway car before it was abandoned.
Eleazar said they are following up on leads that the same group, which is allegedly involved in illegal drugs, killed Dorozan and a 17-year-old boy in the same barangay last February.
Rodel San Andres was found in front of a church along Camia street last Feb. 2 with handcuffs on his right ankle. He was shot in the nape.
Julito Ramos, 68, was also found with handcuffs and gunshots to the head outside the Manila North Cemetery earlier this month.
