Drug suspect shot in Pasig

MANILA, Philippines -  An alleged drug pusher was shot and wounded by unidentified assailants after he reportedly failed to remit drug money in Pasig before dawn yesterday.

Aries Jason Espiritu, 27, suffered a gunshot to the head. He was listed in critical condition at the Pasig City General Hospital.

Espiritu was on the drug watchlist of Barangay Rosario, according to Eastern Police District director Chief Superintendent Romulo Sapitula.

“The angle we are pursuing is that he was shot because he failed to remit drug money to his supplier,” Sapitula said.

Investigation showed that Espiritu and his companion were drinking at a basketball court along Eastbank Road, Floodway in Barangay Rosario when two men on a motorcycle opened fire at around 1:15 a.m.
