LRT, MRT adjust hours

MANILA, Philippines - The Light Rail Transit (LRT) Lines 1 and 2 and the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) will adjust their operating hours for the holidays.

LRT operator Light Rail Manila Corp. said in a statement yesterday that the first train for the LRT-1 will leave at 5 a.m. today and on Dec. 25 and 31 and Jan. 1, 2017.

The last train for today will leave at 8 p.m. On Dec. 25, the last train would leave Baclaran at 9:30 p.m. and Roosevelt at 9:50 p.m.

On Dec. 31, the final train would leave at 7 p.m.

The last trip on Jan. 1 would leave Baclaran at 9:30 p.m. and Roosevelt at 9:30 p.m.

The LRT-1’s regular weekday schedule of 4:30 a.m. to 10:15 p.m. will resume on Dec. 27 while its weekend schedule of 5 a.m. to 9:50 p.m. will resume on Jan. 7, 2017.

As for the LRT-2, a post on its official Facebook page Lrt Line II stated that its Santolan station will operate from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Dec. 31.

The LRT-2’s Recto station will operate from 5 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. today and from 5 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 31.

The LRT-2’s regular schedule is from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. for its Santolan station and from 5 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. for its Recto station.

The MRT Line 3 said its operation today and on Dec. 31 will start at 4:30 a.m.

The last train at the North Avenue station is at 8:30 p.m. while the last train at the Taft Avenue station leaves at 9:14 p.m.

The MRT-3’s operation on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, 2017 will start at 6:30 a.m. The last train will leave the North Avenue station at 10 p.m. and Taft Avenue station at 10:40 p.m.

For Dec. 26 and 30 and Jan. 2, 2017, the MRT will open at 4:30 a.m. The last train will leave the North Avenue staiton at 10 p.m. and the Taft Avenue station at 10:40 p.m.
