MANILA, Philippines - At least five suspected drug users and pushers were shot in Pasig and Quezon City from Friday night until yesterday morning.

Only one suspect, a manicurist, was left alive.

Watch repairman Ismael Pangcoga, 46, was sleeping in his shanty in Barangay Sagad at around 1:50 a.m. yesterday when unidentified assailants barged in and repeatedly shot him, case investigator Police Officer 2 Danilo Damasco said.

A fired shell and a bullet were recovered at the shanty, he said.

Pangcoga is in the drug watchlist of Barangay Sagad.

In Barangay Pineda, manicurist Evelyn Coloma, 45, was in her house when unidentified gunmen arrived and shot her at around 11:40 p.m. Friday.

Coloma – who is in the barangay drug watchlist – is under observation at a hospital, said case investigator Police Officer 3 Oliver Baquiran.

Two bullets were recovered from Coloma’s house.

Gerard John Amandy, 26, was found dying along Bolante 1 street in Barangay Pinagbuhatan after witnesses heard repeated gunshots at around 11:30 p.m. Friday, case investigator Senior Police Officer 1 Eduardo Pablo said.

Three bullet shells, caliber unknown, were found at the scene.

Amandy is in the drug watchlist of Barangay San Miguel, Pablo said.

Jhonace Ryan Dotaro, 32, was having dinner with his partner in their shanty in Barangay San Joaquin when four gunmen on two motorcycles killed him at around 9:40 p.m. Friday, case investigator Police Officer 3 Hermie Taroma Jr. said.

Dotaro was declared dead on arrival at a hospital.

Recovered at the crime scene were three shells, three slugs and a bullet of unknown caliber.

Dotaro’s name is in the drug watchlist of Barangay San Joaquin.

In Quezon City, security guard Ian Sierva, 29, was killed in an alleged shotout in his house in Barangay Payatas-A at around 6:30 a.m. yesterday.

Sierva, on the Batasan police station’s watchlist as a pusher, reportedly sold P500 worth of shabu to a police officer posing as a buyer, then started shooting when he realized it was a sting, investigators said.

He was declared dead on arrival at the East Avenue Medical Center.

Recovered at the crime scene were a .45 caliber pistol, three shells, bullet fragments and five sachets said to contain shabu.
