Abby Binay on cake report: Not true

MANILA, Philippines – Makati Mayor Abigal Binay clarified yesterday that Millennium Food Chain Corp. was not the previous supplier of the birthday cakes for the city’s senior citizens.

In a letter to The STAR, Binay said that based on city government’s records, Cups and Mugs and Bakerite were the previous suppliers of the birthday cakes.

The STAR reported that Millennium Food Chain Corp. was the former supplier of the birthday cakes given to the elderly during former vice president Jejomar Binay’s term as mayor.

The younger Binay also clarified that the Anti-Money Laundering Council did not freeze her bank accounts contrary to the report.
