EPD launches project to support drug surrenderees’ kids

Non Alquitran - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Eastern Police District (EPD) launched yesterday an adopt-a-pupil project to help children of drug surrenderees with their school needs.

The EPD command group joined Francisca Delleva, Pasig social welfare and development office head, in donating school supplies to at least 25 schoolchildren.

EPD director Chief Superintendent Romulo Sapitula said he later shared a meal with the children and “majority of them claimed they dreamed of becoming policemen someday.”

The parents of the 25 schoolchildren are drug surrenderees from the cities of Pasig, Marikina, San Juan and Mandaluyong.

Sapitula told the parents, who were present during the launch, to mend their ways and continue sending their children to school.
