Woman shot in front of son

MANILA, Philippines –  A woman was shot dead in front of her four-year-old son in Tondo, Manila yesterday afternoon.

Carmelita Flores, 32, was in their house on I. Delos Reyes street when an armed man barged in and shot her repeatedly at around 2:15 p.m., said Senior Police Officer 2 Joseph Kabigting, homicide investigator.

Witnesses said another man stayed outside and served as a lookout.

Closed-circuit television footages showed the assailants running toward Narra Extension in Tondo.

Kabigting did not identify the gunman but reported that the same man poked a gun at the victim’s 18-year-old son prior to the incident.

Among the possible motives for the attack is a feud with another family, police said.
