Pastor kin to Duterte: Probe corruption in judiciary

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – The family of slain race car champion Ferdinand “Enzo” Pastor yesterday asked President Duterte to order an investigation into corruption in the judiciary.

Pastor’s mother, Remy, said the Court of Appeals released a resolution that expunged them from the records of the court, citing they were not impleaded as a respondent in the petition of his widow, Dahlia Guerrero-Pastor, for a temporary restraining order on her arrest warrant for parricide.

She said she and her family believe there is a conspiracy against her family and she fears the CA is railroading the case in favor of Guerrero-Pastor.

“What is clear, we were included (in the proceedings before the) Department of Justice, the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 85. When Dahlia filed a petition to quash her warrant, we were suddenly removed. And in 15 days, they will give a final verdict. I am afraid. We are being fasttracked,” Remy said.

She said they did not receive a copy of the resolution even if they were involved in the case from the start, adding they were able to obtain a copy from the police.

The resolution, released on July 11, also required the respondents – the Philippine National Police – to file a comment on Guerrero-Pastor’s petition.

Those who issued the resolution were Judges Francisco Acosta, Myra Garcia-Fernandez and Henri Jean Paul Inting.

Pastor’s widow was accused of conspiring with her alleged lover, businessman Domingo de Guzman, to kill Pastor. They allegedly paid Pasay City police officer Edgar Angel P100,000 to shoot Pastor while on the road in Quezon City on June 12, 2014.

Guerrero-Pastor filed a petition for the TRO, which was notarized in Davao City last year despite reports that she had fled to Indonesia.

She is still on the list of fugitives wanted by the International Criminal Police Organization.
