SC defers ruling on GMA case
MANILA, Philippines – The Supreme Court deferred anew yesterday ruling on petitions by former President and re-elected Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to dismiss her remaining plunder case in the Sandiganbayan involving the P366-million Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) fund anomaly.
The high court was set to deliberate on Arroyo’s separate petitions for house arrest, bail grant and the dismissal of her plunder case in regular session yesterday, according to an insider.
The justices reset the voting to July 12, the source said.
Arroyo has been detained for almost four years.
