Fiscal junks falsification complaint vs INC leader
MANILA, Philippines – A Quezon City prosecutor has dismissed a complaint for falsification of public documents filed by expelled Iglesia ni Cristo member Lolita “Lottie” Manalo-Hemedez against her estranged brother and INC executive minister Eduardo Manalo.
In an eight-page resolution, Senior Assistant City Prosecutor Solivan Usman junked the case against Manalo in relation to a contested two-hectare property in Tandang Sora, Quezon City.
“The lot of the questioned deed of sale is not the same property being claimed by the complainant. The property described in the deed of sale is Lot 8-D-1, located in Kalaw Hills Subdivision, Commonwealth Avenue and covered by TCT No. N-143051,” the ruling read.
Hemedez contested the INC’s claim over the property at 36 Tandang Sora where she and her brother Angel still reside.
She has accused the INC leader of falsifying a deed of sale that transferred the lot to the church.
Hemedez’s camp said the document, dated April 2015, was falsified because it was supposedly signed by Hemedez and her husband.
She said this was not possible because her husband, Edward, died on April 15, 2013.
The INC insisted that Manalo was abroad fulfilling his pastoral visitations at the time the alleged falsification of documents was committed.
