Japanese falls to death from Pasay hotel

MANILA, Philippines - A 26-year-old Japanese man died after falling from the rooftop of a hotel in Taft and Gil Puyat avenues yesterday, Pasay City police chief Senior Superintendent Joel Doria confirmed.

He said initial investigation showed that hotel guard Jessie Reyes heard a loud impact sound near his post prompting him to check.

Reyes then saw the lifeless body of victim Yuhei Chiba sprawled on the ground and his broken skull scattered at the pavement.

The police, Doria said, is still conducting a deeper investigation to determine if there was foul play or it was just an accident.
