100 families affected in QC fire

MANILA, Philippines - At least 100 families were affected after a fire hit a residential area in Barangay Botocan, Quezon City yesterday morning.
City fire marshal Superintendent Jesus Fernandez said the blaze damaged 50 houses that were all made of light material. He estimated the total damage at P300,000.
Fernandez added that the fire started at 8:07 a.m. at the shanty of Concepcion and Patty Patricio and quickly spread to other houses.
The fire was raised to fifth alarm and was out at 9:13 a.m.
