Girl dies, 3 hurt in Taguig fire

MANILA, Philippines - A fire of still unknown origin broke out at a residential area in Taguig City at past midnight yesterday, leaving a five-year-old girl dead and three others injured.

Christine Notes was trapped in their house in Barangay Tuktukan when the fire started, the city fire department said.

The blaze broke out at Benjie German’s house and spread to 20 adjacent homes, the fire department said.

Aldrin Carbon, Marites Fernandez and Carmina Alfonso sustained minor injuries.

The blaze reached fifth alarm before it was put out by firefighters just before 2 a.m.
