Mandaluyong deemed Metro Manila most child-friendly city
MANILA, Philippines - Mandaluyong City was judged the most child-friendly city in Metro Manila, beating other local government units (LGUs) in the region.
Mayor Benjamin Abalos Jr. and city nutrition action officer Menchie Abalos received a plaque and P50,000 from Vincent Andrew Leyson, chairperson of the Regional Committee for the Welfare of Children, and Jovian Ingeneiro, assistant regional director of the Department of Interior and Local Government on Jan. 22.
Mandaluyong joins Bacolod, Baguio and Davao in the Highly Urbanized City Category of the Presidential Search for the Most Child-friendly City Award.
The city is eyeing its second Presidential Search for the Most Child-Friendly City of the Philippines award after topping the regional search.
