NCRPO on heightened alert for Christmas

Non Alquitran - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – With Christmas approaching, the 19,000-strong National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) was placed on heightened alert yesterday to protect the public against criminals.

After the peaceful Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Manila, NCRPO chief Director Joel Pagdilao said they would intensify security measures in Divisoria, “tiangges” or flea markets all over the metropolis, shopping malls and other places of convergence.

Pagdilao ordered the five police districts in Metro Manila to go full blast in the campaign against wanted criminals and drug pushers to ensure public safety during the Christmas holidays.

The NCRPO chief hoped that the police officers would replicate the enthusiasm and devotion to duty they displayed during the APEC meet.

Pagdilao said more uniformed police officers should patrol the streets to thwart lawless elements and to respond to emergencies.
