Erap to adopt Tolentino as PMP’s Senate bet
MANILA, Philippines - The opposition Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP) may field former Metropolitan Manila Development Authority chairman Francis Tolentino as one of its candidates for senator, former President and Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada said yesterday.
“Yes, we will likely adopt him as PMP senatorial candidate,” Estrada, who founded the PMP, told The STAR.
Tolentino decided to exclude himself from the Liberal Party’s list of senatorial candidates after he figured in a controversy involving a sexually suggestive performance by the all-female dance group Playgirls during the birthday bash of an LP member.
