Barangay councilor loses P.1 M to burglars

MANILA, Philippines - A barangay councilor lost more than P100,000 to still unidentified burglars in Quezon City before dawn Sunday, an official said yesterday. 

Jocelyn Alit, 52, of Barangay Bagong Silang, and her family were sleeping when the burglars forced their back door open and entered their rooms, Senior Police Officer 2 Celedonio Caunceran said. 

Alit said she lost P1,000; mobile phones worth P10,000; a necklace worth P18,000; a Rolex watch worth P80,000 and a laptop computer.

Caunceran said they collected several latent prints from the crime scene. He said they submitted the evidence to the Philippine National Police crime laboratory.
