Driver hangs self in Malabon

MANILA, Philippines - A jeepney driver hanged himself over alleged marital problems in Malabon City yesterday morning.

Police identified the suicide as Eduardo Maclan, 43. He was found lifeless with a nylon cord looped around his neck by his relatives inside his house on Javier street, Barangay Baritan at past 6:30 a.m.

City police chief Senior Superintendent Severino Abad Jr. said that except for the ligature marks on the victim’s neck, there were no physical injuries that would suggest foul play.

A relative of Maclan told investigators that he became depressed over marital problems prior to the suicide.
