Woman killed by truck

MANILA, Philippines - A 43-year-old woman died after a truck hit her while she was crossing a street with her two children in Valenzuela City Sunday afternoon.

Maria Luz Bayatan, of Doneza street in Canumay West, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Valenzuela General Hospital.

Police said the truck driver, Joey Coz, was arrested after the accident.

Traffic probers said Coz was cruising Santiago street at around 1 p.m. when the truck hit Bayatan.

The victim’s children were unhurt in the incident.
