2 cops trade shots in traffic row

MANILA, Philippines - A traffic altercation led to two police officers shooting each other in Tondo, Manila at past midnight yesterday.

A report identified the lawmen as Police Officer 1 Liderato Cruz of the Southern Police District and PO3 Dennis Santiago of Manila Police District’s public safety battalion.

The two police officers, who were riding motorcycles, reportedly refused to give way to the other while they were driving along Herbosa and Juan Luna streets at around 2:10 a.m.

Cruz sustained multiple gunshot wounds while Santiago was shot in the leg. Both men were rushed to Mary Johnston Hospital.
