5 mestizo-looking men abduct wrong woman but still rape her for 5 days

Who is Ana Locsin?

A 27-year-old woman was abducted and gang-raped for five days by five mestizo-looking men after she was mistaken for their supposed target, a certain Ana Locsin.

The victim was released last Friday at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) complex in Pasay City after one of the suspects took pity on her. She is now confined in a hospital in Metro Manila.

As of presstime, the parents of the victim are still to decide whether to make their daughter’s case public or not.

But Metro Manila police chief Director Edgar Aglipay got wind of the incident and ordered a thorough investigation to get the five men, who could be scions of prominent families.

Aglipay dispatched a police team to the hospital to convince the woman’s father of their full support and protection until the case is solved and the suspects are languishing in jail.

Initial reports reaching Aglipay showed that the girl was on her way home to Dasmariñas, Cavite when the suspects on board a car abducted her in Makati City.

The report claimed that the girl had just stepped out of a bus when she was dragged by the five men into their waiting car. The men were tailing another car and thought that the victim was their supposed target, the report said.

After being blindfolded, the report said the girl was brought to an undisclosed place. When she was pushed out of the car, one of the abductors cursed and admitted they took the wrong target.

"Sin verguenza. This is not Ana Locsin," the group’s mastermind reportedly said. But the mastermind went ahead and raped the woman. despite her pleadings. Then, his companions took turns raping the victim everyday, the report said.

But on the fifth day, one of the men took pity on the girl and promised to help her. When given the chance, the man drove the girl to the PICC and ordered her to run and not bother to look back. The victim did as she was told and ran into a fish vendor who helped her call her office. Co-workers fetched her at the PICC and informed her parents of her ordeal.

She was able take a glimpse of the mestizo-looking faces of the suspects through her blindfold, the report said.

Aglipay appealed to all women named Ana Locsin to surface as they might be a big help in solving the case.

"We are interested only in knowing why they should be the intended target and from there we can have a lead to pursue and solve the case," said Aglipay in an interview.

Meanwhile, the police arrested yesterday a 21-year-old man in Las Piñas City who was accused by his own teenage sister of raping her and got her pregnant.

Suspect Jojo Cutanda, of CAA Compound in Las Piñas, is now detained and has been charged with rape by police authorities.

Case investigator Senior Police Officer (SPO) 2 Ben Javier of the Station Investigation Division (SID) said the 15-year-old girl reported the rape incidents to the police after discovering that she was two months pregnant by him.

The victim, a third year high school student, alleged that Cutanda first raped her in November of last year then again, five days before Christmas.

Police gathered the Cutanda family lived in a small house and that the victim and the suspect slept in the same room.

The victim said Cutanda was drunk on the two occasions that he raped her.

The victim told police that she did not immediately report the rape incidents because her brother threatened to kill her.

Cutanda, however, told police that he was having an incestuous affair with the victim and that she consented to their sexual trysts. — Nikko Dizon
