More job seekers in Consolacion
Jose P. Sollano/JMO () - January 15, 2011 - 12:00am

CEBU, Philippines - The increasing number of job applicants in Consolacion prompted Mayor Teresa Alegado to reactivate the town's Public Employment and Service Office (PESO).

Alegado said she has received many requests from residents to help them seek employment in different companies at the Mactan Export Processing Zone in Lapu-Lapu City and other business and industrial establishments in Cebu and Mandaue Cities.

She said a number of high school graduates need further assistance in dealing with companies for possible employment.

Alegado designated Foxter Mindajao to lead the Public Employment and reactivated Service Office and in coordinating with the different business and industrial establishments.

With the incoming opening of SM Mall in the town, Alegado expects a number of job seekers from other towns to head to Consolacion. She stressed, however, that Consolacion residents will be prioritized as far as assistance is concerned. (FREEMAN)
