Drug peddler falls but cousin escapes

CEBU, Philippines - Operatives of Basak Police Station arrested Thursday evening a 27-year-old man who was a subject of a buy-bust operation in Sitio Ibabao, Barangay Agus, Lapu-Lapu City.

Brian Igot, resident of the place, was nabbed after transacting drugs with a police poseur buyer.

Police Officer 2 Michael Copias said they seized from Igot 15 small and four medium packs of suspected shabu.

The suspect's cousin Archie, however, was able to escape arrest.

Also confiscated were a .38 caliber pistol with four live bullets, drug proceeds worth P100 and drug paraphernalia.

Police also recovered the P200 marked money.

Igot is now detained at Lapu-Lapu City Detention Cell and will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and illegal possession of firearms. — Christell Fatima M. Tudtud (FREEMAN)
