Barangay to get P1M for mixed-use building
CEBU, Philippines - The multi-purpose building in Barangay Bulacao, Talisay City will be given additional P1 million funding by the Office of the Mayor "even if its captain is not an ally of Johnny De los Reyes."
De los Reyes lost in his native Barangay Bulacao against former congressman Eduardo Gullas in the May 2013 elections. Overall, though, he won against Gullas for the mayoralty post.
De los Reyes said he already asked the city budget office and accounting office to look for additional budget for the completion of the multi-purpose building.
The barangay has already spent almost P2 million for the building’s construction.
Raul Cabañero, the barangay captain, is an ex-officio at the City Council representing the Association of Barangay Council.
Cabañero said the multi-purpose building will have a women center, youth center and senior citizen center.
It will also provide an evacuation center for the barangay. (FREEMAN)
