Ex-cop chief gunned down

SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Philippines – A former police officer, who was the head of the disaster risk reduction and management office of Bamban, Tarlac, was shot dead in Barangay Cutcut in Capas on Monday.

Former Bambang town police chief Lino Mangrobang was driving his red Honda Civic on his way to the town hall when unidentified motorcycle-riding men fired at him.

Mangrobang died while being treated at the Ospital Ning Capas.

Senior Superintendent Richie Posadas, Tarlac police director,  created a task force to investigate the killing.

Prior to the attack, Mangrobang had received death threats, according to his family.
