Rider gunned down

MANILA, Philippines - A 55-year-old motorcycle rider was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Binondo, Manila yesterday morning.

Police said Jovito Ferido had stopped at a traffic light along Delpan street when two men on a motorcycle fired at him at 8:27 a.m.

Ferido died at the scene from a gunshot to the head.

Senior Police Officer 3 Jonathan Bautista of the Manila Police District homicide unit said one of the suspects got off the motorcycle and took the victim’s necklace before fleeing.
